Who knows what inspires people to take on these quests – trading a paperclip for a house, dancing around the world, working one job a week for a year…but they’re fascinating to follow. Here are a few personal quests, some complete and some in progress:

Kyle MacDonald completed his quest of trading one red paperclip for a house – oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com
and now it’s a book One Red Paperclip: Or How an Ordinary Man Achieved His Dream with the Help of a Simple Office Supply

Matt traveled around the world dancing – Where the Hell is Matt?
Matt dances very badly, but most people don’t seem to mind.

Sean Aiken is still seeking his passion – One Week Job
Offer him a job!

Jason Lewis just finished circumnavigating the globe using only human power – Exploration 360
it only took 13 years

This was a favorite book of mine and when I heard a movie was being made, I have to admit, I cringed. All I could think of was when they attempted to make a movie of Into Thin Air.

But then I heard that Sean Penn was directing, the family and Jon Krakauer had given their blessing, and Eddie Vedder was asked to do the music. Now I cannot wait until Friday to see it.

Take a look at the web site they did for the movie. They did a lovely job. www.intothewild.com
